Methot would made sense though! Maybe not the best dman available? But with his salary and cost to aquire? And it's weird that the Sens wouldn't have a deal in place, cause he's best friends with Karlsson! ....maybe Karlsson would like to join him on the leafs when he becomes a free agent! Melynuk paying him 9+? don't know? sens would say no way the owner doesn't sign him?but to play in a big market? And with his best friend!

It would be. From Ottawa via Las Vegas. Unfortunately, we all know this is going to be a very dull reveal.

Someone said on here the other day that a player taken by Vegas has to play in Vegas for 6 months before he can be traded to another club.

How would any of these deals work in a way that would benefit the Leafs next season? You really want to wait until March for Methot???.....or any of these guys for that matter.

I wouldn't worry about Methot, Hamhuis may be interesting.....

They can be traded immediately, just not back to the team they were selected from until January.

Hard pass.

He's really not worth his price tag. He's old, slow, and suppresses the other team's offense about as well as Matt Hunwick (due to him dropping off sharply the last couple of years).

If you want to do a side deal with Vegas for a lower pairing guy, I'd suggest Schlenko. He's a heck of a lot cheaper, and much more economical in his own end. Would make a great foil for Carrick on a bottom pair, and his salary is half that of Methot - plus the cost to acquire would be MUCH less.
